VLO exists to encourage and provide opportunities for fellow believers at Voyagers to put our faith into action by loving and serving others in the name of Christ, all to God’s glory.
Our ministry objectives are:
- To see God glorified
- To see others in our community blessed and come to Christ
- To see ourselves and our community transformed
Clearly, the calling on every Christian is to love God and to love our neighbors (Mark 12:29-31). In the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus gave a powerful picture of what it is to be a neighbor, and by His own life of sacrifice, He showed us how it’s done. Jesus Himself said that He came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28).
So, regardless of where you are in the process of learning and applying these core principles of Christian living, VLO is here to help spur you on toward love and good deeds (Heb. 10:24). It’s our hope to provide a variety of opportunities so that there will be something for everyone.
Whether you are young or old, single or a growing family, as Christians, God has taught us to love others, and one way we demonstrate that kind of love is through acts of service. This is not only Biblical, but also fun and a real blessing. And not surprising – Jesus said that it is more blessed to give than receive (Acts 20:35). Come, serve with us and see for yourself!
